Easter Festivities

Egg hunting
Asher was happiest when he discovered the eggs had jelly beans in them.

Then the crazy fun started...Cascarone eggs. I'd never heard of them, but Aunt Kate brought them to the boys. You smash them on each others heads. We did them outside and I still find confetti in my house every day!

Asher wasn't a fan....
Then the annual Cookerson football game
Some bubbles

Easter Weekend

Easter festivities this year were mostly curtailed by illness and bad weather...We have yet to dye Easter eggs (and if Alex didn't keep reminding me I'd just skip it this year.) We had one beautiful day last weekend (Saturday) so we did a fun Easter egg hunt at the Erickson farm. That at least appeased Alex on issue. The kids were cute though and we had a fun weekend.

A beautiful, sunny day!

Trying to get a shot of both boys when you're in a hurry to be at church by 8:30 am is not easy...

At least they're sort of looking at the camera.

Alex's Eater basket. He got Chutes and Ladders too.

Easter Egg Dyeing

We did our annual Easter egg dye after dinner tonight. We did really well except for the Alex spilling the orange dye all over the counter, floor and himself.... Good thing we were all in old clothes! It was so much fun this year since Alex really knew what we were going to do. He was incredibly enthusiastic and cracked about 7 of the 11 eggs in the process, but all in all a fun time was had!
Here he is ready to go in Mommy's old shirt!

Easter!

We had a wonderful time preparing for and celebrating Easter this year. We dyed eggs with Alex for the first time. He wanted to throw the eggs more than dye them, but overall I think he enjoyed the process. Seth and I had fun too!

Here's Alex in his Easter clothes all ready for church. We had a wonderful time at church celebrating Christ's resurrection! And of course I always love seeing all the kiddos dressed up in their Easter finest!
We spent the afternoon with the Erickson's having a yummy dinner and too many desserts! Alex hunted for goldfish cracker (cacko's) stuffed eggs in the house (it was pouring down rain) and just generally enjoying all the attention. (Let's just say he was definitely worn out by the end of the day!) It was a great day and weekend!

Alex's Fort

Today we spent a good chunk of our morning in our fort (aka the kitchen chairs and a blanket). Alex thought it was pretty cool to sit in there and do puzzles, read books and play peak-a-boo with me outside. We also did some practice Easter egg hunts (I don't have pictures because I was helping him) so we could be ready for Sunday!
