Fun in the Sun!

On Wednesday Caleb and Caitlyn brought their cars over to drive at our house. Alex looks like he's having fun here, but once Caitlyn put the gas on he FLIPPED OUT! He cried hysterically until I took him out of the car and he wouldn't have anything to do with it again. Good thing I got the picture first....

On Friday we went to a fun park in Tumwater so Alex could play. It was a gorgeous day and we all loved being outside in the sunshine! He was wary of the slide at first, but then realized that the slide is maybe the most fun part of the park!

Stickers!

Here's Alex having a little fun with stickers! Apparently he loves them. We hear that in the church nursery he steals the ID stickers of the backs of other kids....

Overcoming Fears & Other Highlights of the Week

You might be saying to yourself "I thought Alex was terrified of the vacuum!" Well, he was terrified. Horrified really. When I would vacuum he would sit stone still on the couch until the vacuum was all the way back out in the garage when he would again feel safe. This week I let him "help" me one day. He wasn't too impressed at first, but grew to love the noisy beast. I just thought this picture was too cute. His melodies are actually sounding a little more like playing and less like just throwing things at the piano. I'm enjoying his curiosity about the piano. Sometimes he sings along too, which just melts mommy's heart. We are beginning to see the signs of having a musical little boy. :)

We were blessed to have a couple of nice days this week to play outside. Today was quite cold, but at least dry enough for Alex and daddy to have some time with the trike and a wagon ride around the neighborhood.

Super Bowl Sunday

What can I say? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. This pretty much sums up the afternoon. Chips and spicy guacamole (yes, Alex likes it too).

New hairdo?

I'm not sure why, but lately he's spent a lot of time with 1, 2, even 3 blankets draped artfully over his head. I don't know if he likes having a cape, or if he's contemplating long hair (he does occasionally brush the blankets with a hairbrush. In this picture he's wearing a sleep sack and his crib blanket on his head while holding both blue bears. He recently discovered there are 2 blue bears and now one really isn't good enough....

16 Months Old

Today Alex had his 15 month well baby check. (He's 16 months old, but mommy was a little behind in making his appointment.) He's now 28lbs 4oz and 33.5 inches tall. His head size is still off the charts, but not to worry--I'm sure he'll grow into it! He had to get 4 shots today, but was very brave and only cried a little.

Here he is having a little lunch. He's mastering the use of his fork and spoon really quickly! A lot of the food ends up on his shirt, face hair, and hands, but the vast majority makes it into his mouth. Now that he's been using a utensil he doesn't care much for eating without one!

Here's our boy pushing a kitchen chair around. He's always moving things around to suit his purposes. :)
