38 Weeks

Today marks 38 weeks of pregnancy. Just 14 days to go! I had an ultrasound today to check the size of this little man to make sure we weren't approaching anything near or above his brother's birth weight (9lbs 15oz) since it might be impossible for me to deliver anything more. Good news is he's measuring in the 37th percentile at 6lbs 10oz. She was so surprised that she checked all the measurements 3 times, but she was certain. At this rate even at full term it's not likely I'd have a baby much over 8lbs. Very doable! I see my doctor tomorrow and then will know more about when baby will make his arrival!

Fishin'

Here's Alex's new fishing pole. Mommy had to be creative. It's a straw, embroidery floss and a cut up cereal box, but he's pretty much in love with it. We've been fishing for orange fish, strawberry fish, grape fish...you name it. And yes, we eat them all!

Girls Night Out

I am so thankful for this group of ladies the Lord has brought into my life. Such beautiful women inside and out who love and encourage me, make me laugh and are shining examples of Christ in their lives. A good friend is hard to come by and I'm grateful I've been blessed with more than my fair share!

Making Progress

Here are some pictures of the baby's room. I think I'm pretty much done with it now....This was one of those projects that sort of spiraled out of control. It started out with me just making a small quilt and room darkening curtains and before I knew it I'd made a crib skirt, some pillows, recovered a chair and a lampshade. Here are some pictures of my finished handiwork.

These pictures are scrapbook papers I framed. I thought the animals were cute.

Recovered rocking chair.

Room darkening curtains.

The crib. (The shelves could use a little TLC)

A closer view of the quilt. (It looks like it's partly pink, but it's actually orange.)

Changing table.

Lampshade I recovered to match
So there you have it. Once I pack my bag for the hospital and get the car seat out and install it in the car I guess we'll be ready for baby!

36 Weeks

Here I am at 36 weeks 1 day. Saw the doctor today and everything still seems healthy, happy and fine. This baby doesn't seem nearly as big as Alex was (which I am INCREDIBLY grateful for). Next week we get to have an ultrasound to try and get a better measure on his size, but right now it doesn't seem like there's much to worry about. We are just incredibly anxious to meet him!

Practicing

Yesterday we were blessed with a visit from this sweet little cherub. Alex was completely enthralled with him and wanted to hold him the entire morning. He was so incredibly sweet and helpful with baby it made me just that much more excited for when our baby finally arrives. You wouldn't believe the heartbreak when we had to send baby home. Alex sobbed and sobbed. Soon we'll have our own baby to take care of all the time. We are so excited!

Steam Train!

Ahhhh Washington..... How I love that when you want to do something outside it rains. Okay, I don't love that. Not even a little bit. Today we had free tickets for the Chehalis steam train. We had talked it up big to Alex and he was really excited until we got there... Of course it's raining and the train is very loud. It took us 5+ minutes to coax him to open his eyes because of his great fear of the steam getting in his eyes. When we got home he started crying saying "I didn't want to ride the steam train!" Maybe next summer it will be less scary....

"I'm keeping the steam out of my eyes!"
Wet sisters

Eyes still closed....

He's finally looking!

Daddy and frightened Alex

Look at that sweet face!

The Erickson's!

The engine

Even raining on him he fell asleep on the way back

As you can see it was quite wet!

37 Days to D-Day

But pretty much any day is looking ok to me now!
